Licensed Nursing Home Administrator
Luther Park Community is an independent, non-profit senior living community in Des Moines with a reputation for its expertise in dementia care. The Trinity Center at Luther Park is a 120-bed nursing facility with dual certification for Medicaid and Medicare. The Administrator is responsible for day to day operations of the facility; ensuring the Trinity Center operates in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and ensuring the well-being and optimal health of each resident.
Essential Functions
Provide oversight, direction, leadership and collaboration to all aspects of the nursing facilityEnsure medical services are planned, implemented and evaluated to meet resident medical care needs and preferences to maximize resident quality of life and quality of care
Develop, implement and evaluate initiatives to improve staff, family and resident satisfaction
Collaborate with human resources to recruit, hire, coach,evaluate and as needed, terminate employees
Ensure the facility operates in compliance with all locate, state and federal regulations
Provide leadership and direction for the annual DIAL survey which may include formal plan of correction and preparation for a DIAL revisit
Investigation allegations of abuse and submit findings to DIAL
Create and manage an annual budget
Manage overtime within budgeted amounts
Collaborate with the business office on issues related to resident billing and collections
Educational and Experience Requirements
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in health care administration, health services administration, long term care administration or a related field
Preferred Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public administration or related field
Current Iowa nursing home administrator license or the ability to obtain one
Three years management experience in long term care or a senior living environment
Knowledge of best practices in dementia care and ability to implement
Proven results of leading a high performing team with measurable results and outcomes
Ability to analyze financial reports, aggregate resident data and other information and make sound business decisions
