Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

The Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) provides professional social work services, including psychosocial assessments, counseling, case management, and care coordination, under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in compliance with the Connecticut Department of Public Health and NASW Code of Ethics.
The LMSW supports individuals, families, and groups in addressing behavioral, emotional, and social challenges, while promoting well-being and access to community resources. The ideal candidate demonstrates empathy, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach to client care.
Key Responsibilities-
Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify client strengths, needs, and barriers to treatment.

Develop and implement individualized service plans in collaboration with clients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Provide individual, family, and group counseling under the supervision of an LCSW.

Offer crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning as needed.

Coordinate referrals to community services, including housing, financial assistance, and healthcare providers.

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, psychologists, and other behavioral health professionals to ensure coordinated care.

Advocate for clients’ rights and access to needed resources within the healthcare and social service systems.

Stay informed about current Connecticut social work regulations, evidence-based practices, and community programs.

Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.

Active and unrestricted Connecticut LMSW license issued by the Department of Public Health.

Eligibility for clinical supervision toward LCSW licensure preferred.

Minimum 1 year of supervised social work experience (internship experience may count).

Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.

Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Must be available at least 3 days per week, with flexibility for occasional evenings or weekends.

Experience in behavioral health, home health, hospital, or community-based social work settings.

Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.

Knowledge of Connecticut community resources and state assistance programs.

Culturally competent and trauma-informed practice approach.
