The Mission of This Role
Deliver exceptional massage therapy that creates measurable improvement (pain relief, mobility, recovery, stress reduction) and a premium client experience that feels calm, consistent, and personal—every time.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide customized massage therapy sessions aligned to client goals and contraindications:
- Add-ons (as applicable): cupping, hot stones, CBD/topicals, stretching, percussion tools, etc.
- Specialty work (preferred): prenatal, lymphatic, myofascial release, TMJ, Neuromuscular, trigger point therapy, craniosacral, sports.,
- Conduct high-quality consultations:
- Assess client history, pain patterns, stress load, mobility, and lifestyle factors
- Confirm contraindications and clarify expectations
- Align on a plan: “today + next steps”
- Maintain consistent room standards: readiness, cleanliness, flow, and calm presence.
Client Journey, Rebooking, and Retention
- Create simple, actionable next-step recommendations:
- Frequency guidance based on goals (pain relief, performance, stress, maintenance)
- Home care basics (hydration, stretching, recovery habits) within scope
- Drive retention through results—not pressure:
- Make recommendations only when they serve the client
- Collaborate with front desk for rebooking and plan continuity
Documentation & Operational Discipline
- Document each session accurately in the client management system:
- Intake notes, areas addressed, techniques used, response to treatment, contraindications, and plan
- Protect schedule integrity:
- Start on time, communicate delays early, turn rooms efficiently
- Maintain compliance:
- Sanitation, laundry/linens, equipment care, and state board standards
Requirements (Must-Haves)
- Active Massage Therapy License in MO
- Current liability insurance (or ability to obtain)
- Strong anatomy knowledge
- Confident consult + communication skills (you can lead a plan, not just deliver a session)
- Commitment to sanitation/compliance and documentation standards
- Professionalism: punctuality, reliability, and high service standards
Preferred (Nice-to-Haves)
- 1+ year experience in a spa, wellness clinic, or high-service environment
- Specialty training: deep tissue, sports, prenatal, myofascial, lymphatic, TMJ,
- Comfort in a membership/retention environment focused on long-term results
- Experience with booking/client software

Physical & Work Environment
- Standing for extended periods; repetitive hand/wrist motion; bending/reaching
- Ability to lift up to ~25 lbs (linens, supplies)
