Library Director - Town of Charlton

The Town of Charlton is looking to fill a full-time, benefit-eligible Library Director position.  Under the general direction of the Library Board of Trustees, the Library Director performs managerial duties related to personnel, budget, collection development, library operations and planning and delivery of services in conformity with policies established by the board of Trustees.

              Qualifications:

*Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited school; at least three years of experience as a library director or progressively responsible experience in library administration including supervisory responsibility.

* Certification by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioner.

* Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices of professional library work and of the organization and management of library operations to include administration,   personnel, and finance.

* Proficient with computers, library software and applications. 

*Ability to develop and maintain short- and long-term development, plans and objectives. 

*Catalog and reference skills, budgeting skill snad skills in pursuing and administering grants required. 

*Proficient with computer, library software and applications.

Hiring Range: $75,649.63 - $83,512.00 with full range maximum of  $94,473.60. annually depending on qualifications.
