JOB DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The liaison engineer performs design updates, documentation, and installation tasks on Transport Category Aircraft for Interior Completion STC projects. The engineer will be responsible for creating and revising design data in support of cabin monument build and structural modifications to aircraft primary structure for the installation of interior and external components. The engineer interfaces with internal and external partners and suppliers, procurement, and manufacturing in performing these functions.

 

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Supports production needs as required when modification questions arise.

2. Revises mechanical designs to aircraft primary or secondary structures for VIP business aircraft.

3. Revises cabin monument designs for VIP cabins.

4. Designs repairs for aircraft structure that are beyond the scope of repair documentation

5. Coordinates with Engineering project leads on redesign efforts

6. Supports the integration of structural and systems installation components within the aircraft configuration.

7. Ensures designs meet customer criteria, quality standards and FAA requirements.

8. Achieves established metrics for timely resolution of production issues during the program.

9. May represent the department during production meetings.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent.

2. 2 – 4 years of experience working in aircraft completions industry on transport category aircraft.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Computer Aided Drafting/Design (AutoCAD preferred.)

2. Aviation background and aircraft interior experience preferred.

3. Knowledge of mechanical design and documentation standards.

4. Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.

5. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

6. Strong time management and organizational skills.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment described here is representative of those required by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.

The office building where this position works is a typical office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues in the immediate vicinity of the workstation. The employee in this position will experience occasional outdoor exposure to heat, cold, and environmental elements when called upon to locate personnel working inside or outside of a Hangar.
