Auto Liability Claims Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION:

In this role, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, disposition and settlement of Commercial Auto Trucking / Transportation claims. You will manage a caseload of claims from initial investigation through resolution, ensuring that each claim is handled with the utmost professionalism and in accordance with company policies and state regulations. Assigned claims may involve serious injuries and/or damages, requiring direct involvement in handling complex and high exposure events, litigation and/or mediation of complex issues, requiring minimal supervision. Exceptional evaluation and judgment skills are required to develop all potential exposures in the file, and to properly reserve all indemnity, adjustment, court costs, and legal expenses. Protection of our Client’s and the Company’s financial exposures are critical.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Investigate and analyze liability, including gathering evidence, interviewing involved parties, and determining liability.

·         Evaluate coverage and liability issues and make recommendations for claim resolutions.

·         Negotiate settlements with claimants, attorneys, and other insurance carriers.

·         Maintain detailed and accurate records of all claim activities and decisions.

·         Provide exceptional customer service to policyholders, claimants, and other stakeholders throughout the claims process.

·         Communicate with insureds, claimants, witnesses, attorneys, and other carriers via telephone & written correspondence.

·         Communicate with internal personnel including legal and management.

·         Refer to vendors or outside field adjusters as necessary

·         Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         3-5 years of experience in handling liability claims, preferably in commercial auto insurance.

·         Strong knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, and state regulations related to commercial auto claims.

·         Trucking/Transportation claims experience is a plus.

·         Ability to work remotely full-time.

·         Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Organizational, planning and multi-tasking skills.

·         Strong negotiation and written and verbal communication skills.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:

Multiple state adjuster licenses required. Relevant certifications (e.g., AIC, CPCU) are a plus.
