Shift & Hours

Looking to fill 2 roles.  Potential for overtime based on company needs. 

  1. Day Shift that runs Monday to Friday (12pm-8:30pm).
  2. Afternoon Shift that runs Monday to Friday (4pm-12:30am).  

Salary Offer

$19-$21 per hour - for candidates who are willing to learn and for candidates with some experience

$21-$26 per hour - for candidates with experience and direct or related skills & equipment knowledge

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Lettershop/Bindery Operator is to setup and operate high-speed mail inserter machines and/or bindery equipment, packaging and general mailing and finishing tasks.  As a Lettershop/Bindery Operator, you will assist in various aspects of production.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up, load and operate Inserting Machines based on specific Job Docket/Work Order/Operating Screen instructions.
  • Be familiar with and proficient with the setup, adjustments and operation of high-speed Pitney Bowes inserters and camera validation systems.  Knowledge and experience with Pitney Bowes Evolution, Pitney Bowes FPS, Pitney Bowes Rival or Pitney Bowes Relay 8000 Series of inserters is a definite asset.
  • Technologically and mechanically savvy to learn other pieces of equipment and ultimately be able to run multiple machines.
  • Be familiar with and proficient with the setup and operation of various Bindery finishing equipment such as guillotine, booklet maker, saddle stitcher, shrink wrapper, puncher, table-top folder, inkjet printer, etc.
  • Consistently check quality by visually inspecting product before, during and after each job; Ensure envelopes or packages are sealed.
  • Ensure name and address information appears in envelope window and Canadian, US and international mail are kept separate; Load completed materials into Canada Post/USPS mail trays and gaylords or skids and ready for delivery and mail induction.
  • Responsible for overall quality and integrity of the end-product.
  • Utilize and interpret work docket instructions, job ticket details and job matrix log ensuring correct job execution, output quality and meet audit requirements.
  • Adhere to standard quality and operating procedures as established by the company.
  • Follow and comply with all company Health & Safety policies and work rules and regulations; PPE (safety shoes) are mandatory when working in the production area.
  • Performs production duties as required or assigned by Supervisor or Managers
  • Maintain and contribute to departmental housekeeping standards.

Other Abilities Required

  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent hands on experience required
  • Basic math skills and computer knowledge.
  • Ability to read and write English proficiently.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Attention to detail and mechanically inclined.
