Legal Secretaries - 24560
1.) Read, review, and edit legal documents as directed;
2.) Review revisions with Administrative Law Judges as needed
3.) Review Exhibit Lists for accuracy and ensure the actual exhibits are stored as required;
4.) Prepare, review, and edit content for a variety of communications, including reports, proposals, emails, and websites;
5.) Maintain electronic records related to legal proceedings, including by ensuring accurate entries of information in a timely manner; 6.) Act as a liaison to other units within the Agency and ensure the Unit is informed about contacts with other units within the Agency; 7.) Check emails regularly and take necessary steps to address inquiries, requests for adjournments, attorney representation letters, etc;
8.) Update calendars, file correspondence, emails, etc;
9.) Answer telephone and general email account as needed;
10.)Receive incoming mail and send outgoing mail from the office or from the post office as necessary;
11.) Assist the Director of the Administrative Hearings Unit as directed;
12.) Assist the Administrative Specialist 1 as requested;
13.) Other duties as assigned.
Candidates must possess a minimum of an associate degree in legal assistance OR an associate degree & a certificate of completion of a Legal Assistant Certificate Program from an accredited college.
Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience providing complex clerical level legal support services to an attorney OR on contested cases overseen by an attorney.
