Position Summary: The Lease Operator III is responsible for the overall daily operation and maintenance of a route or specified group of oil and gas wells.  The Lease Operator III will demonstrate advanced operating skills through increased training, troubleshooting and problem-solving on routes that may include multi-well pads, compressors and a variety of artificial lift systems. Performs routine and structured work assignments. Contributes to tasks within a team, function, or work group. Advanced knowledge of processes for the assigned work. Exercises independent judgment, relying on pre-established guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures. Works independently. This position will report to the Wamsutter, WY field office.

 Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain compliance with company HSE policies and demonstrate the ability to respond quickly and confidently to safety and environmental events. Including but not limited to; participation in company safety meetings, reporting near misses, Stop Work Authority, LOTO and SOPs.
  • Requires the operation of company vehicles. Must drive safely to and from wells and well sites, maintain a clean driving record in adherence to company policies.
  • Conduct production tests and perform advanced repairs. Communicate corrective maintenance needs if unable to complete.
  • Complete operational checks of assigned wells/equipment. Identify and report changes in individual well performance.
  • Perform required maintenance of equipment. Communicate corrective maintenance needs if unable to complete.
  • Analyze facility related problems and work with Foreman or other Operators to resolve.
  • Updating piping and instrumentation diagrams and site security diagrams as required.
  • Ability to adjust operating controls to maximize production and minimize production costs.
  • Coordinate with midstream gathering operations.
  • Perform maintenance of well sites (equipment, berms, fences, signs, weeds, trash, etc.).
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of SCADA, metering, automation, communications, and all surface and downhole equipment.
  • Gauge tanks and prepare for sale; manage fluid inventory on production facilities.
  • Lighting of gas-fired vessels/emission control devices.
  • Accurately complete well tests, meter readings and production reports using SCADA/Field Operator.
  • Advanced knowledge of artificial lift systems and optimization. Assist other operators with optimization skills and tasks.
  • Minimize downtime and code appropriately in the field data capture system.
  • Advanced comprehension of lease operating expenses and assist foremen in cost saving measures.
  • Work proactively to reduce emissions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug screen.
  • 8+ years industry related experience preferred.
  • Lease Operating certificate preferred.
