Leadman - 2nd Shift
Summary:
The Lead Man is responsible for using overseeing the staff in their department to ensure performance and quality standards are met.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Must qualify to demonstrate our company values at all times. (Always improving, Customer Focused, always great work, Humble and helpful, and Integrity matters)
- Open Shops and turn on machines before the shift starts
- Distributes workload to employees (pick jobs, loading lists, etc.) to ensure we remain on our daily schedule while also making sure all paperwork (TLI reports, WCM, QA forms, etc.) are properly filled out and turned in.
- Handles quality inspections.
- Assist Manager/Supervisor in daily activities.
- Answer emails in timely fashion
- Take proper actions to train employees, and cross train employees to always have a backup operator
- Inspect raw parts and completed parts to assure goal is being met. Inspect paperwork to make sure all matches, prints, etc. pc counts must match paperwork
- Inspect pc counts and verify packaging on smaller dimension orders.
- Make sure every machine has a steady material flow, to assure no machine has down time due to lack of material
- Make sure to transfer material to next process in timely order, and trash any scrap from building asap
- Safety meetings once a week
- Verify employee/position every morning to assure everyone is present
- Assure employees have all tools necessary to work in a safe environment (has correct PPE at all times), no exceptions.
- crane/forklift/machine inspections
- Communicate with CAD/sales if any issues with drawings, prints, etc.
- Make sure WMI transfers and customers get loaded in timely fashion.
- Designate grid locations to specific employees; Make sure employees are cleaning their locations daily.
- Communicate with HR about any incidents.
- Assign tasks to employees with a expected finish time; make sure goals are being met within time frame.
- Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Good communication (written and verbal) skills and the ability to speak read and write basic English.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Must be a self-motivated, dependable, team-oriented person with a positive Can-Do attitude who can be effective under pressure.
- Ability to work as a team with other personnel assigned to the job
- Willingness to work overtime.
- Participate in ensuring a safe work environment through promoting all company safety policies.
- Ability to be patient, calm and helpful with internal and external customers to resolve issues in a constructive manner.
- Forklift Driver experience
- Crane operations
- Loading trucks
- Material handling experience
- Ability to comprehend and implement oral instructions quickly.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and to comprehend measurements
- Good eyesight or wear corrective lenses as seeing is essential to the job. Applicant must be able to have clear vision at 20 feet or more and have good depth perception to judge distance and space relationships.
