Jonathan’s Place is accepting applications for a part-time Residential Case Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience working with the child welfare system and a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in social work or other human services field.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordination and implementation of comprehensive case management services for youth in the Transitional Living Program (TLP) and Girls Treatment Program (GTP).  

This position will coordinate placements and completion of initial intake/admission documentation setting up and maintaining required documentation for both TLP and GTP residents.  Responsibilities will also include on-call duties, completion of detailed service plans, coordination of life skills classes and learning opportunities, as well as monitoring resident(s) medical, dental, therapy visits, psychological and psychiatric appointments.   Will have flexible hours and act as a backup to existing Case Manager staff.  May provide holiday and vacation coverage for Staff and assist in the Emergency Shelter as needed. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned manager wanting to step back from a full-time position.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Educational qualifications (at least one)
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field
    • 1-2 years in case management
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) preferred
  • Management experience preferred
  • Experience working in an evidence-based, trauma-focused therapeutic environment is preferred.
  • Must be at least 26 years of age.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate agency needs.
  • Must have current driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current insurance
  • Maintain a working telephone or other reliable means of communication
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check (including CBC, Texas Department of Public Safety’s criminal history database, DFPS Central Registry abuse/neglect and the FBI fingerprint check) 
  • Ability to engage and effectively communicate with persons from diverse cultures and communities, as well as from different groups, including children, their parents, agency colleagues, Foster/Adoptive parent(s), CPS staff, support staff members, supervisors, administrators, and persons from the legal and judicial system.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge and use of a conceptual framework for child and adolescent development, emotional and behavior problems, parenting, crisis intervention, and a range of treatment modalities.
  • Working Knowledge of DFPS Minimum Standards
  • Skills in organizing work in a responsible way within an environment with multiple challenges, priorities and time frames
  • Ability to identify and plan long and short-term goals
  • Demonstrate knowledge of computer programs and databases including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Publisher), Internet Explorer, and Kaleidacare.
  • Ability to speak with self-confidence and produce professional correspondence and presentations
  • Ability to work as a team player and work effectively with others
