General Function: 

The Early Learning Teacher has the primary responsibility for implementing a program to provide excellent educational opportunities and care for young children (aged 3 mos. – 5 years).  With the support and guidance of the Youth Development Director and the EL Director, he/she will develop the curriculum to be used in the classroom.  This includes preparing and implementing lessons plans, as well as creating and ensuring the daily schedule is followed.  The Early Learning teacher will monitor student development and abilities and will provide individualized experiences and opportunities to foster growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop engaging curriculum, lesson plans, and daily schedules.
  2. Manage specific aspects of classroom activities and behavior.
  3. Monitor and document children's developmental progress.
  4. Maintain accurate attendance records and promptly report incidents to supervisors.
  5. Ensure constant supervision of children.
  6. Participate in regular meetings to discuss curriculum, child development, and program issues.
  7. Maintain program equipment and supplies; organize and clean the classroom and playground.
  8. Foster positive relationships with parents through regular communication and updates.

SCHEDULE:

  • Full Time, 8 Hour Shifts
  • Monday - Friday
  • No Weekends 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Director’s Credential (preferred).
  • Meet Department of Children and Family standards.
  • Certification in Infant, Child, and Adult CPR, and Basic First Aid.
  • Completion of the 45 Hour Childcare course required by the State of Florida.
  • 21 years or older with a minimum of 2 years teaching experience.
  • Hold and maintain a valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
