About us:

Stono Market originated in 1987 as a open air Farmer's Market to sell produce and seafood harvested by the Ambrose Family. The Tomato Shed Cafe was created to take advantage of the abundance of fresh ingredients and to minimize waste. First, aiming to feed the hungry employees of the nearby tomato packing sheds then growing to serving nearly 300 meals a day during lunch service. We have grown by leaps and bound over the last 10 years and hope to find a new team member to grow with us. The Tomato shed Cafe has been serving Farm to Table style, since before it was cool. We value our casual and comfortable work atmosphere and looking for a team member that values the same. The Ambrose Family has strong family ties and we want the same within the family business. We want our customers to feel like they are sitting at Grandma's table and enjoying a delicious, and casual southern meal.  We strive to serve meals and drinks for a reasonable price by a team of easy going and fun people. 

Skills and Qualifications of our Desired Candidate:

Ability to work the needed full time schedule (Hours: Wednesday 12-7 and Thursday through Saturday 12-close, around 11pm)

Gentile yet direct  and effective communication with fellow team members, management and guests

Must posses cleaning and organization skills

Strong time management skills

Good listening

Good Knife/Cooking Skills

Positive Attitude

Good knife skills

Knowledge of a variety of commercial kitchen equipment, appliances and tools

Ability to remain calm and friendly, under pressure

Must have reliable means of transportation

Must be able to read follow a recipe

Previous commercial kitchen experience (2-4 years preferable)

Having a sense of urgency is a must

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for 8 hours

Enjoys being creative with food

Respects consistency and existing recipes

Ability and willingness to deep clean
