Lead Housekeeper- Lodge Retirement Community
Job Description: Lead Housekeeping and Laundry will oversee the overall operations of housekeeping and laundry services at the skilled nursing facility. This includes managing and supervising staff, developing and implementing cleaning and laundry procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining a high level of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage and supervise housekeeping and laundry staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
• Develop and implement cleaning and laundry procedures that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Ensure that all areas of the facility are clean, well-maintained, and safe for residents, staff, and visitors
• Monitor inventory levels and order cleaning and laundry supplies as needed
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning and laundry activities, including equipment maintenance and repairs
• Collaborate with other department heads to ensure seamless operations and a high level of resident satisfaction
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices and make recommendations for improvements as needed
• Manage the departmental budget and ensure cost-effective operations
• Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to promote team building and staff development
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies and maintain required documentation
• Other duties as assigned by the Administrator or CEO
Qualifications:
• Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in housekeeping and laundry management, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to housekeeping and laundry operations
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
• Ability to work flexible hours and weekends as needed
Physical Demands:
• The job may require standing or walking for extended periods, as well as occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
• The job may require exposure to cleaning chemicals and other hazardous materials, with appropriate safety equipment provided
