Lead Accounts Payable Specialist

Fidelity Mechanical Services, the Mid-Atlantic’s leader in mechanical contracting and building solutions, is looking for a Lead Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team in Sparks, MD!

What You’ll Do:

• Process and review invoices at a high volume, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation before payment.
• Maintain vendor records and reconcile statements to resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and execute payments via checks, ACH, and wire transfers in a timely manner.
• Work closely with internal teams and vendors to resolve payment issues and inquiries.
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end closing procedures, including AP reconciliations and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience in accounts payable or a related finance role; experience in the HVAC/Construction industry is a plus!
• Strong understanding of AP processes, general accounting principles, and financial controls.
• Proficiency in accounting and invoice routing software, as well as Microsoft Excel. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and DocLink is a plus.
• Ability to manage high volumes of invoices with accuracy and efficiency.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve discrepancies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with vendors and internal teams.
