Laundry Attendant
General Responsibilities:
- Attend to the cleaning process of hotel linens according to IHG and brand standards.
- Wash, dry, and fold hotel linens and terry as well as treating stains to minimize loss.
- Store, inventory, issue, and distribute hotel linens.
- Operate washing and drying equipment, load and unload laundry from machines.
- Measure and administer cleaning agents to laundry according to product specifications.
- Inspect used laundry for stains and repairs before washing.
- Monitor feeder information on washer, make sure all drums are full and report any irregularities to supervisor.
- Set the proper drying and cooling times for various types of linen.
- Fold laundry.
- Count and assemble laundered items.
- Assist in monthly linen inventories.
- Addressing any public area cleanliness concerns when they need attention.
- Complete lint and discard log.
- Maintain orderly and clean linen stock areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized laundry room.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cleaner or laundry attendant, hotel experience preferred
- Detail-oriented and thorough
- Ability to perform consistent work at the highest standard
- Ability to work quickly without compromising quality
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
- Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant and friendly way
- Prioritization and time management skills
- Willingness to work rotational 7-day work cycle; including weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
