About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Land Survey CAD Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will assist in completing boundary surveys, preparing easements, drafting legal descriptions, and creating various exhibits. Additionally, experience in point cloud registration and drone data processing is highly preferred. This role will involve supporting licensed surveyors and engineers with accurate and timely project deliverables using CAD software and other industry tools.

 

What You Will Do:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and edit ALTA surveys, Improvement Survey Plats, Lands Survey Plats, easements, and legal descriptions.
  • Prepare survey exhibits for engineering and land development projects.
  • Perform point cloud registration, including processing LiDAR and other 3D data.
  • Assist in processing and integrating drone data for surveys and mapping.
  • Interpret and translate field notes, sketches, and other survey data into detailed CAD drawings.
  • Maintain detailed and organized project files.
  • Collaborate with field survey teams and project managers to ensure data accuracy.
  • Follow project schedules and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (Civil 3D) and survey software (Trimble Business Center)
  • Experience with point cloud registration and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with drone data processing and photogrammetry software (e.g., Pix4D)
  • Knowledge of survey principles, boundary law, and land development processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree or technical certificate in CAD, Surveying, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in land surveying and CAD drafting.
  • Experience in point cloud processing and drone data management is a plus.

Working Conditions:

 Physical Requirements

  • Frequently required to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, and use hands to fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to lift and move 25 pounds at a time.  

The Position:

The CAD Tech position is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position working onsite with flexible and hybrid schedule work options.

 

The hourly range for this role is: $32-$38/hour
