Labourer/Traffic Control Person

Fort St. John, BC $30.82/hour
Dawson Road Maintenance is looking for a Labourer/Traffic Control Person. Who will expertly manage the ebb and flow of construction zones, ensuring safety for both workers and the traveling public secure during roadwork operations. When Traffic Control is not required, this individual will be responsible for Labourer type duties.

In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Road Maintenance, working in a temporary, full-time position of Labourer/Traffic Control Person reporting to the Road Foreman. This position will be working on our Crack Sealing crew. This role is dependent on weather cooperation.  If it is raining, crack sealing will be postponed, and this team will work in a general labourer role. Base location will be Fort St. John B.C. and will require some travel through our great province.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Must Prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of the job.
Stop, slow, and safely direct traffic through work or construction sites.
Perform labourer type duties such as rest area clean up, yard maintenance, and other ad hoc tasks.
Protect workers in the construction zone by regulating traffic flow.
Assist skilled workers with construction, maintenance, and demolition work.
Work as a swamper on trucks hauling heavy equipment, supplies, and materials.
Give traffic control directions and signals clearly and precisely so that motorists understand their meaning.
• Keep the flow of traffic moving with as few delays as possible.


WHAT YOU BRING
BCCSA Traffic Control Ticket.
Valid Driver’s License.
Experience in the field is an asset.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
