We are currently accepting applications for kitchen prep team member.

We are excited to offer a full time permanent career position for top quality candidate(s).  

Must be available Tuesday-Saturday, drive a van and make lunch deliveries, and occasional work over time during peak events season

A positive attitude, attention to detail, strong worth ethic, and ready willingness to learn proprietary recipes are required.

Character references required.

Position: Kitchen Prep/Cook/Delivery Driver 

the successfully hired candidate will be cross trained in a variety of large scale food preparation and production processes.

Schedule will include Tuesday to Saturday hours.  

Overview:

Follow strict company recipe and cooking guidelines. Utilize commercial convection ovens and delivery driver for events in Springfield.

Nelson's Catering is locally owned and operated full service catering company. Our production facility is located in Springfield IL.

Main Duties and  Responsibilities:  

Work in a team oriented, high volume, fast paced production environment

Work efficiently to be able to handle large volume of product per hour.

Service, maintain and clean kitchen equipment on a regular basis

Timely, high quality food production using oven and/or grilling systems

Maintains a clean work environment

Maintain highest food safety and sanitation practices

Expectations:

Drivers License 

• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds as needed

  Follow variety of company recipes 

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time

• Good basic math skills
  

• Problem solving capabilities and organizing abilities

• Excellent time management skills

• Ability to work with minimal supervision

• Use of all kitchen equipment in a safe manner

• Comply with all food sanitation requirements

• Clean and neat appearance

• Proven, excellent attendance record

• Good driving record

• Clean background

• 2 years kitchen prep experience preferred
