Kitchen Manager / Restaurant Sous Chef
Sous Chef Description
We are looking to add an experienced and professional Sous Chef to our CONRAD’S Eat Drink Local management team. We are a fast-paced, high-volume, scratch-kitchen restaurant. This position would be a working Sous, which would require the right individual to lead the line through peak shifts, assist our Chef on implementation of procedures, help with prep and assist with execution of banquets. A typical work week will be 52-55 hours and include 2 days off. It is expected to be available to assist in coverage if situations arise. Friday, Saturday & Sunday availability is required. Being bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
Responsibilities Include:
· Assist in preparation and design of all food menus
· Produce high quality plates, both in design and taste
· Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely manner that meets our quality standards
· Assist Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation
· Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
· Manage and train kitchen staff
· Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
· Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Sous Chef Requirements:
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Aptitude for multi-tasking
· Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team
· Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment preferred
· Ability to acquire proper certifications required by the County
· Knowledge of restaurant best practices, cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Compensation:
· Salary $50,000-$55,000 total compensation
