Berry's on Main is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager/Chef to join our team! Must be able to work evenings and weekends. A self-disciplined and creatively motivated individual will thrive on our team. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the kitchen team in daily operations ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food preparation
  • This position is an active role, must be willing to participate in all kitchen and staff activities
  • Manage food and labor costs
  • Manage inventory control, ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Creating menu items, recipe's and developing dishes ensuring variety and quality
  • Make sure prepared plates are correct and properly garnished
  • Direct kitchen operations, including food prep, cooking and cleaning
  • Align tasks and supervise staff to ensure quality
  • Maintain control of the kitchen to ensure that all tasks are carried out effectively and efficiently
  • Resolve issues as they arise so that customers continue to receive their orders in a timely manner
  • Make sure that all kitchen and wait staff adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a clean and sanitary kitchen
  • Direct monthly inventory
  • Train, mentor and supervise the kitchen staff
  • Create the schedule for the kitchen staff
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and maintenance as needed
  • Implement, monitor and document relevant food safety programs
  • Plan and execute banquet events, ensuring exceptional presentation and service quality

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or culinary setting
  • Creative mindset with a passion for culinary arts and innovation in menu design
  • Strong kitchen management skills including inventory control.
  • Culinary degree preferred but not required
  • Leadership experience and presence
  • A keen eye for detail and ability to maintain attention to detail while in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent food handling skills
  • Ability to remain productive when pulled in many different directions
