Summary of Responsibilities

The Kitchen Manager (BOH Manager) is responsible for all kitchen operations, including but not limited to supervision of the kitchen staff and staffing levels, quality food preparation, safety and sanitation, and housekeeping. The Kitchen Manager will take responsibility for setting the expectation for all kitchen team members to work as a team to maximize productivity and achieve standards at all times, whether it is cleanliness, organization, food quality, or speed and accuracy of the team. The Kitchen Manager ensures that all kitchen team members are performing their job responsibilities and meeting expectations in all areas of their job descriptions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Food Quality –Maintains high levels of cleanliness, organization, storage, and sanitation of food products; ensures recipes are updated, performs editing if necessary, verifies and monitors recipe adherence throughout the kitchen. ·
  • Financial Accountability – Skills necessary to manage and control food costs, labor costs and expenses so that financial goals are met. Strong Organizational Skills to prioritize daily tasks.
  • Teamwork – Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensures employees do the same within the team.
  • Strong Leadership Skills – Serves as a role model for employees through teamwork support, attention to detail, quality control and interactions with guests and team members. Has experience in supervising and training staff, including safety training. Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments; delegate daily tasks and hold the team accountable for those tasks.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Identifies and solves real problems.
  • Works effectively with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of Word and Excel; general knowledge of computer functions.
  • Thorough knowledge of catering, food preparation, plating, and presentation in order to perform analytical work.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of restaurant management/ownership experience.
  • Must be dressed neatly and well-groomed in company approved attire at all times.
  • Must be able to fully understand, update and operate P.O.S. computer system.
  • Knowledge of computer to fulfill closing/opening management functions.
  • Must be able to professionally respond and communicate with guests, personnel, and management in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.
  • Must be able to identify opportunities and provide clear direction by leading each shift, every day.
  • A state approved Sanitation & Safety Certification is required. (Can receive after hire)
