Oren's Hummus is a strong and healthy Bay Area favorite serving a full menu of traditional Middle Eastern/Mediterranean cuisine. We are currently seeking an experienced and tenured Kitchen Manager to lead our Palo Alto restaurant.

This is a full-time hourly position with a pay range of $26.00 /hour to $30.00/hour depending on experience. The position comes with a guaranteed 5 hours of overtime per week.

With all respect, this position requires a minimum of 3 years experience as a Kitchen Manager in a high-volume, full-service dining environment.

We are seeking local candidates only (living within a 45-minute commute of Palo Alto) to ensure a work-life balance. It's not healthy to spend 2+ hours a day commuting to work.

  • Safety Focused - time/temp controls in place, sanitizer is always at the right level, detailed cleaning, gloves and handwashing all the time
  • Excellent Time Management Skills - organized and structured in their work-style, meets deadlines, plans for the week, period, and quarter
  • P&L Savvy: knows how to read a P&L, identify wins and opportunities, creates a plan to address opportunities and executes it
  • Tech Capable - you don't need to be a programmer but we use technology for our ops like Google Suite, Toast, Microsoft Office, and various other tech platforms and apps
  • Works and Supports the Team - works side-by-side with their team during peak periods and on weekends, schedules themselves for at least one opening shift, one mid-shift, and one closing shift per week
  • Bi-Lingual - fluent English/Spanish preferred in order to effectively communicate with the entire Team

Requirements for this position:

  • At least 3 years experience as a Kitchen Manager in a high-volume, full-service, upscale/polished dining environment
  • Tenure in position (no more than 2 restaurants in 5 years)
  • Valid Food Safety Manager Certification or certified within first 30 days of hire
  • Able and willing to consistently work at least 40 hours per week with one opening, one closing, and weekend shifts on their schedule
  • Lives within a 45 minute commute to Palo Alto with reliable transportation
