Our Summerside Child Care Centre cares for 200+ children and is looking to hire a Dishwasher to join our team, supporting our Chef to serve fresh and nutritious meal 3 times a day.

What do we need from you?

As a Dishwasher, you will be responsible for supporting the Child Care Chef to keep our kitchen running smoothly and safely every day.  Your main duty is  to wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment with hands and a sanitizing machine to ensure the kitchen stays shines and organized. 

What will you do?

• Wash and dry dishes, utensils, cutting boards and kitchen equipment with hands and a sanitizing machine.
• Safely and correctly usage of a sanitizing machine.
• Ensure meals can be served in clean dishes and utensils.
• Ensuring a clean, sanitized environment at all time,  mopping, sweeping and scrubbing the kitchen areas as required.
• Assist with the cleaning of shelves, coolers, fridge, food storage units.
• Maintaining kitchen cleaning log.
• Disinfecting practices & products-know correct ppm.
• Know and practice proper hand washing procedures.
• Garbage handling.
• Follow all cleanliness and safety protocols.
• Other general kitchen maintenance duties as assigned. 

You will possess the following:

• Ability to work as a team in a kitchen setting
• Ability to stay organized and focused under pressure
• Ability to clean dishes and cooking equipment for up to 220 children daily
• Ability to sweep, mop, scrub areas
• Be flexible, willingness to help wherever needed. 

Required qualifications to work at Kepler Academy:

• Minimum of 1-year commercial working experience in a high-volume kitchen environment
• Food Safety Certificate
• Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check issued within the past 6 months
• Standard First Aid certificate is considered as an asset
