Junior Interior Designer – Hospitality Projects
Job Title: Junior Interior Designer – Hospitality Projects
Location: Gulf Shores, AL
Position Type: Full-Time | Entry-Level
Salary Range: $45,000 – $55,000 annually (based on experience)
About Us
We are a small but experienced hospitality-focused company built from the ground up by a husband-and-wife team with over 25 years in the industry. From operating hotels to developing them, our growth has always come through careful, cost-effective planning and the willingness of our team to pitch in wherever needed.
We became a formal corporate structure about four years ago and are still evolving—meaning flexibility, humility, and a roll-up-your-sleeves mindset go a long way here. Our corporate team totals about 30 people, with a small and collaborative interior design department.
Position Summary
We’re looking for a Junior Interior Designer to join our hospitality design department. This is an entry-level position for someone eager to grow into a career in hotel FF&E and interiors. You'll assist with take-offs from architectural plans, budget creation, product specifications, vendor pricing, and installation documentation.
You won’t be handed a narrow job description—you’ll learn a lot, wear multiple hats, and have a direct hand in real-world hospitality design projects from start to finish.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assist in reviewing architectural drawings to extract FF&E requirements
- Build project budgets and work within cost constraints
- Create specification documents and detailed interior design plans
- Develop installation instructions and project handoff documents
- Collaborate with vendors for quotes, samples, and pricing negotiations
- Work in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Excel, Word, Outlook), & Google Workspace
- Support your team with whatever needs doing—from document formatting to product research
What We’re Looking For
- A degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, basic Microsoft Office tools, and Google Workspace
- Someone eager to learn and unafraid of asking questions
- Good communicator with an eye for detail
- Comfortable working on a small team and contributing beyond a typical design role
- Interested in hospitality interiors and open to the quirks of real-world project timelines
- A self-starter who can stay organized without being micromanaged
You’ll Fit In If You:
- Learn best by doing
- Appreciate structure but aren’t rattled when it’s missing
- Like the idea of being part of a long-term story, not just a project
- Can pivot when priorities change (and they will!)
- Value relationships and clear communication
- You take pride in thought our functional design – even if it’s not flashy. You care about quality, details, and how things come together
What We Offer:
- Full-time salary commensurate with experience ($45K–$55K range)
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid time off and holidays
- Opportunity to grow into a long-term role in a stable, tight-knit company
