Irrigation Technician
Overall Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Irrigation & Climate Manager, Irrigation Technicians are responsible for ensuring that all irrigation requirements are followed accordingly while also maintaining proper inventory records, measurements and sanitation of our irrigation system and nutrients. Irrigation Technicians also support all aspects of plant cultivation, including, but not limited to; cloning, trimming, transplanting, and harvesting.
This is a hardworking, hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves environment emphasizing a team-oriented and collaborative style. It will be key for the candidate to embrace change and see past obstacles with a focus on solutions in the context of a company undergoing rapid growth and ongoing functional integration.
Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Responsible for the accurate mixing and delivery of nutrients to the plants
- Monitors and assures the plant production schedules is current for proper recipe delivery
- Maintain inventory of all chemicals and fertilizers on site and order as necessary
- Ensures the Argus system and all system equipment is running properly, and all irrigation events are being delivered without omission of error
- Respond to fertigation alarms and troubleshoot issues promptly
- Monitor and report crop stress or injury to the Manager
- Take measurements, record data and observations on plant health
- Maintain grow room sanitation protocols
- Performs regular calibration of nutrient testing instruments
- Monitor soil moisture content of the crop, and obtain water samples for testing
- Required to closely monitor nutrient solution to ensure optimal growth and development
- Participate in continuous improvements initiatives
- Maintains safety data sheets and ensures they are always up to date
- Maintains a high level of accessibility for all documentation
- Documenting applications of biological control agents
- Assists with general plant cultivation activities on alternating schedule as assigned
- Participate in the company Health & Safety Program and comply with all health and safety related policies and processes
- Other duties as required
Job Details:
Rate of Pay: $19.00 per hour
Position Status: Full-Time, Hourly, Permanent Position

Schedule: Regularly Alternating Irrigation (6:00 am – 5:00 pm) and Greenhouse Production shifts (6:30 am -3:00 pm), alternating weekend work required, (subject to change as per operational requirements)
Psychological Demands:
- Must be able to complete duties with minimal supervision and comfortable working independently and safely in a group environment
- Must be willing/able to work in a social environment
- Must be comfortable with completing highly repetitive tasks with focused attention
- Fast-paced, production-focused role
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for an 8-hour shift period, including but not limited to: pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50lbs), standing, walking, sitting for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment including, but not limited to medical gloves, safety eyewear, face masks, half-mask respirator, etc.
- For half-masked respirator your face will need to be clean shaven
- This position will involve exposure to fresh cannabis/plant materials and plant fertilizers, and is therefore not likely suitable for anyone that may suffer from allergies to these, or for anyone that experiences medical issues as a result of exposure to them
Environmental Demands:
- Must be willing and able to work in environments with variable temperature (indoor and outdoor) and humidity, and variable lighting.
- Harvest Area: loud machinery, cool environment regularly (approx. 17° Celsius),
- Greenhouse: high heat and humidity (30+ degrees/55+ humidity), bright LED lighting
- Must be able to work in an environment that uses plant fertilizers and chemicals including, but not limited to, AM 717, Caustek Free, Powerquat, and Isopropyl Alcohol.
- Strong scent of fresh cannabis plants
The ideal candidate has:
- Horticulture/agriculture education or experience is preferred
- Experience and knowledge of irrigation/environmental systems is considered a strong asset
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Self-starter, who works independently, takes responsibility and demonstrates integrity
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to work effectively with all levels of employees and management
- Must have access to reliable transportation to work full-time hours as scheduled (typically 40-46) hours per week)
- Must have the ability to provide a criminal record check that is clear of any charges that could be related or have a direct correlation to the position or company
- All employees must be 19+
