Irrigation & Climate Supervisor – Hope facility

Rubicon Organics is seeking an experienced Irrigation & Climate Supervisor to oversee all fertigation and climate-related operations in our indoor cultivation facility in Hope, B.C. Reporting to the Cultivation Manager – Hope, this position is responsible for recipe development, system calibration, and zone-by-zone climate optimization. This role plays a vital part in delivering precise crop steering, maximizing quality and yield, and supporting IPM execution.

Key Responsibilities:Irrigation & Fertigation Management:

·       Develop and adjust nutrient recipes based on crop stage, cultivar, and production goals.

·       Supervise execution of irrigation schedules, EC/pH monitoring, and runoff data collection.

·       Oversee system maintenance for tanks, injectors, lines, and valves.

Climate & Lighting Control:

·       Operate Priva or similar environmental control system to manage temperature, RH, VPD, and CO₂ across all rooms.

·       Collaborate with the cultivation manager to tune lighting strategy by growth phase and genetic profile.

·       Identify and respond to climate-related crop stress.

IPM & Crop Support:

·       Align irrigation and feeding schedules with IPM plans, including biologicals and foliar products.

·       Sanitize irrigation infrastructure to minimize risk of disease or biofilm buildup.

·       Must be able to support occasional pesticide application in accordance with certifications.

Compliance & Reporting:

·       Maintain detailed logs of all recipes, pH/EC levels, and irrigation events.

·       Assist in data collection for crop steering, yield improvement, and audit readiness.

 

Qualifications:

·       3+ years of experience in irrigation/climate roles within cannabis or controlled environment agriculture.

·       Strong knowledge of crop steering, fertigation strategies, and water quality.

·       Proficient in Priva or similar systems for climate and lighting control.

·       Certified pesticide applicator (or ability to obtain within 3 months).

·       Spanish language skills strongly preferred.

·       Technically skilled with dosing systems, sensors, and greenhouse automation.
