Position Description

Reports to: Program Manager
Location: Hamilton, ON
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Start Date: TBD
Contract End Date: March 31st, 2026

Supports clients of all genders, and persons with disabilities, directing and assisting them to navigate into the right program streams through YWCA and / or external services. Supports the Employment Ontario staff team to ensure that participants are provided with information and services they need to successfully integrate into employment services.
· Provides intake and assessment for clients with diverse needs and persons with disabilities who require employment services and career development support at YWCA Hamilton;
· Promotes the employment services at YWCA Hamilton to clients with diverse needs and persons with disabilities;
· Responds to the requests of potential clients and job seekers and ensures that they are streamed into the right programs or services based on their individual needs;
· Works collaboratively with the Manager, Employment Services to develop appropriate intake forms and a strategy to refer clients to different services internally and externally as is necessary;
· Ensures that there is an updated list of service providers in Hamilton for easy referral;
· Maintains open communication with the manager and program staff to ensure that clients are provided with quality comprehensive and holistic services; • Shares information in a timely manner;
· Familiar with, and adheres to the Occupational Health & Safety Act, (OHSA) Workplace Safety Insurance Board Act (WSIB), Human Rights and Employment Standards Act (ESA);
· Participates in annual Health & Safety training provided by the YWCA;
· Attends and participates in staff/team meetings;
· Ensures compliance with YWCA Hamilton policies and procedures;
· Maintains high level of confidentiality/privacy when working with client information;
· Works safely, reports all workplace hazards and follows all YWCA Hamilton Health and Safety policies and procedures;
· Maintains appropriate and accurate record keeping in accordance with YWCA’s policies and procedures;
· Maintains high level of confidentiality/privacy when working with client information;
· Participates in mandatory organizational and departmental training and meetings;
· Understands emerging trends, leading practices, industry professional standards;
· Develops and nurtures meaningful internal and external working relationships and partnerships;
· Supports YWCA’s mission, vision and values;
· Performs other duties as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Works 37.50 hours work week, on site, including evenings and weekends as required.
Qualifications
· Completion of college diploma in Business Administration, Social Services or a related field;
· Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in administration and client services preferably with clients with diverse needs and persons with disabilities;
· Previous experience working in Employment Ontario services an asset;
· Excellent customer service skills required;
· Strong skills using MS Office programs including Excel and Word; and agility and adaptability to learn and adapt to new platforms and technologies.
· Ability to maintain a positive and professional approach at all times;
· Must have current Emergency First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain at own cost;
· Must be able to lead and work from a feminist, anti-racist / anti-oppressive perspective for operations and strategic planning;
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
· Must provide a current Criminal record Judicial Matters or willingness to obtain at own cost;
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and also work effectively in a team;
· Bilingual English/French or other languages an asset.
