Job Responsibilities and Duties
As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Inside Sales Manager. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.
- Oversee activities of all Inside Sales Representatives to meet company expectations of quality standards, customer satisfaction, and productivity.
- Recommend hiring, performance review feedback, training, delegation of work assignments, discipline, and discharge of subordinate personnel.
- Mentor and assist Inside Sales Representatives as necessary, answer job related questions, address problems and customer issues, guide on best practices for cultivating customer relationships.
- Contribute to weekly sales meetings including review of new customer activity and sales and inventory goals with staff.
- Troubleshoot as necessary, monitoring all lost orders and provide analysis of this data.
- Assist General Manager to optimize inventory control and purchasing as well as assist in appraising historic data or inventory needs to ensure effective inventory turnover.
- Monitor daily sales bookings and provide encouragement and assistance to the Inside Sales Representatives in securing orders.
- Monitor shipping schedules to help maintain promised customer deliveries.
- Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure optimal service to customers.
- Promote, encourage, and support employee training and development.
- Evaluate and provide regular feedback to employees, such as recognizing accomplishments or talking about areas of opportunities.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends and development in the field and attend appropriate workshops and seminars to strengthen skills.
- Contribute to a positive work environment based on teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, customers and management.
