We are recruiting for a FULL TIME and PART TIME Inpatient Rehabilitation Recreation Aides to join our skilled team of pediatric professionals in Marlton, NJ. This position is benefits eligible.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for:
- The Inpatient Rehabilitation/ Recreation aide supports the overall functioning of the IP rehabilitation department by duel training in the inpatient rehabilitation and recreation departments. The IP Rehabilitation/ Recreation aide is an integral member of the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, performing departmental tasks/activities which support the overall functioning of recreation /rehabilitation department at large. The IP Rehabilitation/ Recreation aide is responsible for overseeing children in recreational, rehabilitation and gym areas. Under the supervision of the Director of IP Rehab and Senior Recreation Therapist, the aide also assists in the design, planning, and implementation of recreation/play activities and opportunities that support patients’ interdisciplinary team goals, outside of therapy times, including evenings, 7 days a week. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Supervise and engage with multiple medically complex children in rehabilitation and recreation areas
- Provide hands on assistance with patients during therapeutic activities lead by therapists
- Assist with activities of daily living, patient positioning and transfers, including use of mechanical lifts
- Design and implement organize and open recreation activities that are age-appropriate for children from birth to 21 years of age
- Transport patients with all required medical equipment to/from their room to therapy department
- Lead teen take out night (including assisting patients with carb counting as needed)
- Carry out behavior plans
- Maintains inventory supplies. Keeps stock areas clean and organized. Arranges therapeutic treatment and recreational supplies to keep them in order.
- Maintain Weisman Equipment inventory program including logging, sharing, transporting, and sorting all DME equipment
- Clean, prepare and organize treatment and work spaces before and after sessions and disinfects equipment after treatment following infection control protocols
- Maintain sibling care of families as part of Sibling Program during patient-family education
- Supervises volunteers.
- Support and work with all inpatient departments in safe and high quality care of all inpatient children and their family
- Support patient educational needs in afternoon/evenings
- Performs clerical functions including but not limited to the following: photocopying, answering telephones, faxing, emailing, database input, and voice mail operations.
- Support, organize and/or manage therapeutic and recreational outings, special events, holidays, visitation groups, community donations
- Creates, collects, and distributes any documents in assistance to the therapy team
- Maintains cleaning, inventory, and equipment temperature logs.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- CPR/BLS certification
- Strong interest in healthcare
- Interest in working with children in a rehab setting
- Basic understanding of child development/disability, childcare, play, cultural diversity and the desire to expend his/her knowledge in these areas
- Ability and willingness to work independently and as a member of the Rehabilitation and Recreation Department
- Self-motivated
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Computer literate
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility with changes in workload
- Ability to communicate effectively with
- good judgment, tact, and patience during interactions with patients, families, and staff
- Successful participation in ongoing training/supervision (provided by licensed, certified Rehabilitation and recreation therapists and Director of IP Rehab)
- Good physical and mental health
