A little about our Strategy, Policy & Quality Assurance Division
The Strategy, Policy & Quality Assurance (SPQA) Division provides leadership to all aspects of Mothercraft’s ambitious 10-year strategic plan, “Vision 2031”. This includes the development of implementation plans, oversight of data collection and evaluation activities, and responsibility for measuring and reporting progress to the Board of Directors and stakeholders. The Division oversees the ongoing review of existing policies, development of new policies and ensures compliance with the regulatory requirements of Mothercraft’s various service areas in collaboration with other Mothercraft Divisions. The Division will also identify and pursue opportunities that may arise through grant-writing, partnership development and/or new initiatives that align with the strategic plan.

As our Quality Assurance Researcher, you will play a crucial role in assisting the SPQA team in adhering to established compliance best practices and identifying opportunities to enhance its compliance evaluation processes. As a Quality Assurance Researcher, you will…
- Assist the Director of Strategy, Policy, & Quality Assurance and the Policy & Quality Assurance Officer with responsibilities including, but not limited to: Office administration, including filing and records management; Internal information gathering; and document creation and formatting
- Complete a review of Mothercraft’s current compliance practices and provide a summary
- Research compliance best practices for not-for-profit organizations and provide a summary
- Assist with analyzing and visualizing the 2025 staff and service user survey results
- Assist with the assessment of the current monitoring of compliance and identify possible enhancements
- Support other administrative tasks required by the SPQA division
- Handle sensitive and confidential material strictly in accordance with Mothercraft’s policy and procedures
- Follow safe work procedures, including reporting injuries and any unsafe conditions
This position is partially funded by Employment and Social Development Canada and the incumbent must meet the following criteria:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- Be Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have official refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada, according to relevant Provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

- Successfully completed a diploma or the second year of a degree program in the Social Sciences or related field
- Experience in office administration, research, and report writing
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems, such as filing and record keeping
- Knowledge of early learning and childcare is considered an asset
