The Harborside Inn is now accepting H2B applications for a Front Desk Agent with Light Housekeeping duties position for the 2024 season!


The Harborside Inn is located on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. Shared dormitory-style housing is available.

Anticipated Dates:

Our full season is April 1, 2024 through November 15, 2024. All roles with the company, including seasonal roles, remain employment-at-will. Actual start and end dates are flexible. 

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Front Desk Agent-Light Housekeeping plays a key role in our mission to deliver world-class service and products and a memorable vacation experience to everyone who passes through our doors. They do this by greeting guests, checking them in and out of rooms, making reservations, and performing light housekeeping duties in common areas, lobbies, conference areas, and hallways. The position involves:


Operationally Related:

  • Greeting guests and owners. 

  • Checking guests and owners and and out of their rooms.

  • Performing light housekeeping including cleaning of rooms, halls, and common areas. 

  • Making and canceling reservations.

  • Resolving guest concerns. 

  • Completing daily shift checklists.

  • Maintaining a cash bank and reporting discrepancies to management. 

  • Upselling services and accommodations as appropriate. 

  • Working with the housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure rooms are ready. 

  • Assisting with luggage for both owners and guests as needed.

  • Assisting in other roles as needed.

Guest Service Related:

  • Initiating conversations with guests and owners and making them feel welcome.

  • Learning about the area to be able to make recommendations of where to eat and what to do.

It Also Involves:

  • Arriving to work as scheduled and following the property’s attendance guidelines.

  • Attending meetings and training as requested.

  • Practicing all safety guidelines of the organization and reporting safety concerns to management.

  • Adhering to organizational guidelines/policies/expectations as well as federal, state, and local laws, including the property’s confidentiality expectations.

Qualifications:


No specific experience or degrees are required. We are willing to train. All of our team members are passionate about guest service and helping others. They initiate conversations, anticipate the needs of others, and interact with others in a courteous and efficient manner. Strong English speaking skills are necessary due to the daily interactions with others. All staff love being a team player and are detail-oriented as well as flexible/adaptable. They understand maintaining confidentiality is important. They are able to work a flexible work week and are willing to work a variety of shifts (shift options include 8:00am-3:00pm, 7:00am-3:00pm, or 3:00pm-10:00pm) to include weekends and holidays. Team members work 6 days/week but the days of the week and shifts will vary.
