THE POSITION

The Human Resource (HR) Manager is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with departmental managers.  The HR Manager will be measured on internal client satisfaction and hitting key performance indicators.

Responsibilities & Skills:

  • Develop, Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and/or regulations
  • Develop, Launch and Administer company 401k plan
  • Oversee health benefits program
  • Oversee Payroll process including budget monitoring
  • Onboard employees and process hiring-related paperwork
  • Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as but not limited to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions
  • Address employee relations issues
  • Schedule or conduct new employee orientations.
  • Create, Maintain and update human resources documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, or performance evaluation forms.
  • Confer with management to develop or implement personnel policies or procedures
  • Conduct exit interviews and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed
  • Advise management on organizing, preparing, or implementing recruiting or retention programs
  • Actively recruit for qualified job candidates, using sources such as computer databases, networking, Internet recruiting resources, media advertisements, job fairs, recruiting firms, and/or employee referrals
  • Develop or implement recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs including but not limited to cultivating and management of outside recruitment vendors
  • Oversee Administrative Functions including but not limited to: equipment management, inventory management of software licenses, oversee vendor management, maintain and manage WeWork relationship.
  • Complete the set-up of the WeWork office. This includes planning the office layout, assessing, and securing technology, office equipment, furniture, and more.
  • Play a critical role in the development and maintain of company culture.  Includes but not limited to: organization/ planning events, creation of team building events, development and oversee launch of company swag
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications 

  • Minimum three years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Experience in recruiting desired but not required
  • Start up experience
  • Experience with mixed employment status ie: Full Time, Part Time, direct contractor, third party contractor etc.
  • Must possess excellent MS Office skills
  • Ability to be a responsible, self-motivated and innovative HR professional
  • Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality
  • Respond and serve our internal clients in a timely manner
  • Track record of high level to attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team fostered environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment
  • Ability to prioritize and work in a multi-tasked environment
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully
  • Strong skills in database management and record keeping
  • Ability to assist and support others
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, fun to work with, quick to laugh, “can-do / failure is not an option†approach to work

EDUCATION

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in related field, or comparable experience
