Human Resources Generalist - $55,000 - $65,000 - Peoria, IL
ELM Utility Services specializes in underground utility locating and we are experiencing exponential growth as a result of our continued successful operations! We're currently seeking a full-time HR Generalist to work in our corporate office in Peoria, Illinois. The primary responsibilities of this role will include the management of personnel files, posting job openings, preparing internal and external promotion announcements, assisting with injury and accident reporting procedures in relation to workers' compensation, employment verifications, personal and employment information changes, and any other tasks as needed in relation to human resources functions. This is a fast-paced position where you must be able to organize your work, acknowledge and appropriately handle high-priority items with limited supervision. Accuracy, critical thinking skills, and recognizing the significance of keeping sensitive information confidential. We're looking for individuals who showcase excellent judgement skills and a commitment to quality and accuracy. The office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm M-F.
Responsibilities:
Draft and post job openings to our applicant tracking system or other external sources
Draft & Communicate both internally and externally any promotion announcement that occur within ELM
Assist with preparing and providing reports or information pertaining to audits & testing
Assist with accident/injury reporting and entering appropriate information into necessary systems
Respond to employment verification requests
Manage personnel employment file data and scan/enter/maintain such data into our Electronic Management System and HRIS software.
Update personal or employment information in databases as necessary
- Perform other HR-related tasks as needed and communicate effectively with both internal and external personnel
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
1-2 years of previous experience in human resources. Experience in a recruiting environment is a plus.
Proficiency with computer systems and software, such as Microsoft Office 365/Word/Excel/SharePoint/Outlook
HR Certification (PHR/SHRM-CP) or a degree in business/human resources-related field is a plus
Ability to conduct yourself professionally and prioritize confidentiality is a must
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail
