Housing Support Program Coordinator - Stepping Stones Shelter
Responsibilities: The Stepping Stones Program Coordinator is an integral member of the Stepping Stones team working together to provide meaningful supports for clients/residents in a flexible, compassionate, and responsible manner.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Education and/r experience in human services, supported housing, or vulnerable populations, or other relevant training in the human services field;
- Mental Health First Aid/Willingness to get;
- Knowledge & understanding of Indigenous Culture;
- Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's Licence & reliable vehicle;
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills;
- Computer skills (including Microsoft Office, email communication & Data entry);
- Must pass Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check;
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;
- Demonstrate a pro-active approach, flexibility, tolerance, perseverance & competence;
- Understanding of the principles and practices of Trauma Informed Care;
- Experience working with people with mental health, substance misuse and/or cognitive disabilities;
- Excellent time management skills;

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Connecting and supporting participants to permanent housing;
- Provide culturally sensitive programming, case management, counselling and other needed services to clients;
- Referring clients to budget counselling and supports to build sustainable financial skills;
- Working with Coordinated access and HIFIS;
- Connecting clients to other community services;
- Assisting clients with identification by connecting to resources to obtain necessary identification for housing;
- Developing and coordinating the day program, including activities and programming that build on the life skills that lead to independence;
- Assisting in the implementation of support plans and case-management including follow-up for clients;
- Assisting clients applying for Social Assistance;
- Provide leadership to staff members in all areas, including confidentiality, positive work environment, & conflict resolution;
- Maintain written & computerized records, compile reports and complete other program documents (case notes, stats, letters, etc.);
- Be available for an "on-call" schedule;
- Ensure critical incidents are properly documented and reported to the manager;
- Transport clients to appointments when required;
- Attend interagency meetings as required;
- Uphold & maintain policies and procedures for all programs;
- Assist with meals for clients as requested;
- Daily coordination with Stepping Stones Manager & Supervisor;
- Assume responsibilities of the Supervisor in their absence;
- At all times work towards the achievement of YWCA Prince Albert Vision & Mission Statements;
- All other duties as required;
