Job Summary 

This position will be responsible for the daily supervision of the housekeeping staff, quality service, guest satisfaction and safety. The Housekeeping Supervisor will promptly report emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items and safety hazards to management.

The Supervisor must comply with all guest service basics such as uniforms, nametags and proper guest greeting. They will be responsible for inspecting guest rooms and ensuring they are cleaned up to standards and will assist room attendants as needed and provide necessary training. Responsible for assuming all Executive Housekeeper functions in his/her absence.

The Company operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week.


Responsibilities:

  • Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly service oriented manner.
  • Knowledgeable on hotel facilities and services to assist guests as appropriate.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
  • Inspect staff's work performance on a daily basis to assure that standards and productivity levels are being met and maintained.
  • Oversee the organized closing of the floors at the end of the day, ensuring the Room Attendants' carts are clean and restocked with linen only and floors are clear of trash and linen.
  • Ensure records of daily assignments are completed, signed off on and turned into the Housekeeping Office on time.
  • Supervise all staff in Laundry and Housekeeping holding them accountable and responsible for their work performance.
  • Handle items for 'Lost and Found' according to the standards.
  • Ensure that associates are always attentive, friendly and helpful to all guests, managers and other associates.
  • Monitor cleanliness and orderliness of Room Attendants' carts linen closets control closets stairways and landings.
  • Report on progress of all out-of-order rooms under the Housekeeping Department's supervision to the Guest Services Manager daily.
  • Initiate work orders for repairs and maintenance.
  • Willing to help clean rooms when needed due to demand.
  • Oversee proper and constructive training of Room Attendants.
  • Motivate, coach and counsel staff as necessary.
  • Communicate with front desk in regards to special requests, VIPs, early arrivals, etc.
  • Collect all keys and assignment sheets daily at the end of the shift.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by Management.

Position Requirements:

  • Previous housekeeping experience required or equivalent training.
  • Understand and communicate in English and Spanish.
  • Work schedule varies and will include working on holidays, and weekends.
  • High School diploma preferred.
  • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing and pulling, reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, lifting up to 40 pounds and use of cleaning chemicals.
