Bartender/Front Desk - Brand New Moxy Charlotte Opening Soon!

What makes Bar Moxy stand out is the seamless guest experience during arrival and regular visits to the bar. The check-in desk is located at the bar, offering guests a chance to indulge in all that Moxy has to offer while checking into the hotel. To achieve this experience, the front desk and bar are combined into one position, where a guest is registered and offered a welcome cocktail all in one transaction. Ideal candidates will have previous bar experience and the ability to learn the front office property management system. The bar will be well staffed to handle the multi-functions required yet ensure that team members are well poised for maximum income. 

Average gratuities from similar Moxy hotels range from $100-$350 depending on the shift (AM/PM). 

Responsibilities 

• Be the face of Moxy: greet guests with confidence, style, and a touch of cheekiness
• Handle check-ins, check-outs, and all the in-betweens with ease and personality
• Handle payments, room keys, and minor tech troubleshooting like a pro
• Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests, consistently and with flair
• Engage guests in a fun and lively way that fits the Moxy brand personality—cool, confident, and a little mischievous
• Keep the bar area clean, stocked, and Instagram-worthy
• Handle cash, tabs, and point-of-sale transactions accurately
• Recommend drinks or food pairings that keep the good vibes going
• Set the tone for the bar scene—music, lighting, energy
• Follow all safety, hygiene, and alcohol-serving guidelines
• Be a team player—help out across the bar and lounge area as needed
• Know our brand and bring it to life every shift
• Support other team members because we’re all in this together
• Keep the lobby/lounge area tidy, trendy, and Instagrammable
• Share local tips, fun recommendations, and help guests live like locals

Qualifications 

• Hiring AM and PM shifts. Sample scheduling may be 7am-3pm, 3p-11p, 5p-1a. AM shifts will be higher base hourly pay due to expected bar volume.
• Experienced bartender familiar with high volume operations
• Needs to know how to make the most common cocktails precisely
• Creativity is a bonus as we will be making special cocktails to order and seeking input from team members on specialty offerings
• Team player, you will be working with others to offer the most unique bar experience in Uptown
• Bartender gratuities will be tip-pooled for the bar/front desk only. Servers’ gratuities are by employee.
• Part-Time and Full-Time availability is accepted

Physical Requirements 

• Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately 50lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to stand during the entire 8-hour shift.
