Housekeeping Inspector
Job description
SUMMARY
Inspects vacant and occupied rooms/suites and ensures that system standards and consistency are maintained, as well as provides excellent customer service to the hotel guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Inspects all rooms after cleaning. Corrects minor cleaning problems found in inspected rooms as needed, later reviewing any issues with Room Attendant. Sends Room Attendant to return to room to correct major and recurring problems, rechecks room when completed.
- Completes and files room inspection forms for inspected rooms.
- Trains and re-trains Room Attendants on staff, under the direction of the Executive Housekeeper.
- Performs opening duties by assigning work to Room Attendants and prioritizes workload.
- Performs closing duties, ensuring all carts are left cleaned and stocked, and collects and verifies Room Attendant assignment sheets. Communicates discrepancies to the front desk.
- Completes special cleaning projects as needed.
- Cleans rooms as needed or as requested by management.
- Responsible for the proper administration of key control for issued keys, and for keys left by a guest in a room.
- Completes maintenance work orders and delivers to designated area in a timely manner.
- Provides excellent customer service that goes above and beyond, to the hotels guests. Conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times. Observes the company’s 10-4 rule. Immediately addresses guest’s requests.
- Answers guests’ questions regarding the property and local area facilities and services to guests.
- Properly attired in uniform and nametag, in accordance with franchise and company grooming and uniform policy.
- Communicates with superiors and co-workers about the status of guest rooms, guest requests, and maintenance issues.
- Provides safety and security for the hotel and its guests. Follows the hotel key control procedures at all times. Is familiar with the hotel emergency plan and is able to confidently partake in emergency training procedures. Observes guest and hotel confidentiality procedures. Uses the hotel safe lifting procedures. Reports all incidents and injuries to the appropriate supervisor.
- Provides input and ideas on the operation of the hotel. Participates in training initiatives and skill development.
- Completes any other task requested by a supervisor, including training new associates.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
