Housekeeping Supervisor Job Description
Position: Housekeeping Supervisor
FLSA Class: Hourly Non-Exempt
Reports to: Assistant General Manager/General Manager
Job Summary:
A Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations to deliver an excellent Guest experience while evaluating guest room and public areas for property cleanliness and quality control he /she can help in setting department targets and objectives in absence of the Executive Housekeeper and assisting his/her direct supervisor in all areas of the housekeeping department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
❑ Oversee housekeeping operations in the hskp manager absence
❑ Inspect assigned rooms and ensure they are cleaned to standards
❑ Oversee Laundry Operations
❑ Ensure everyone in the department is trained and using Quore on a daily basis
❑ Operate within departmental budgets through effective stock and cost controls and well managed schedules
❑ Inspect, regularly, all fixtures, fittings, and appliances to ensure compliance to standards and take action as necessary to conform to standard
❑ Monitor the appearance, standards and performance of the Housekeeping/Laundry Team with an emphasis on training and teamwork
❑ Ensure team members have an up-to-date knowledge of all room categories and amenities
❑ Maintain good communication and work relationships in all hotel areas and with external customers and suppliers
❑ Ensure staffing levels cover business demands
❑ Ensure ongoing training
❑ Manage staff performance issues in compliance with company policies and procedures
❑ Recruit, manage, train and develop the Housekeeping/Laundry team
❑ Complete linen inventory for the hotel
❑ Maintains data and information for property management systems
❑ Assist other departments wherever necessary
❑ Be a Brand Ambassador of A&R’s Culture, Mission and Values.
Required Skills and Experience:
❑ At least 1 years of experience in housekeeping/laundry and previous experience of managing a department and or related experience
❑ Prior successful performance as a Housekeeper
❑ A high school certificate or equivalent
❑ Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
❑ Committed to delivering high levels of customer service
❑ Ability to work under pressure
❑ Excellent grooming standards
❑ Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
❑ Entry level , with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft Office
❑ Strong organizational, budget management, and problem-solving skills
❑ Strong communication skills
❑ A passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service
Other Skills Required:
Physical: Must be able to stand for periods of time; ability to lift to 25 lbs.; may require frequent bending, stooping and kneeling
Mathematical: Must be able to use basic mathematical techniques including percentages and ratios
