Housekeeper (Part Time)

Keeping the Maryland Science Center clean and safe for visitors and staff. Presenting a positive impression to our guests while working in public spaces. This includes but not limited to cleaning bathrooms, exhibits spaces, eating facilities, indoor and outside activity spaces, hauling trash and recycling.

Basic Functions:

Works under general supervision to maintain a clean and safe environment in and around the Science Center for all visitors and fellow workers. Performs all housekeeping duties in public and private areas. Assist in the moving and stocking of supplies and in setting up and operation of special events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs various housekeeping duties which include cleaning, mopping, pan-sweeping, dusting, washing, and trash removal
• Cleans all exhibits
• Sets up equipment for in-house, special and classroom events
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: 0-3 Years Custodial Experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Skills: Communicate with fellow workers within the organization

Ability to:

• Read, understand, and follow written instructions without direct supervision

• Adapt to consistent changes in the environment

Basic Requirements:

• Must be able to pass background check
• Must be able to climb/work on ladders, and able to lift at least 40lbs.
