Housekeeper-Every other Weekend-Part Time
SUMMARY
Performs day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping department as directed and
in accordance with established standards, guidelines, and regulations, to
assure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

· Keeps assigned areas of the facility in a clean, safe, sanitary, and tidy condition. Performs duties such as wash, sanitize, polish, sweep, dust, mop, strip, wax, buff, vacuum, extract, stain proof, shampoo, disinfect, deodorize, etc., in resident rooms, hallways, stairways, elevators, entrance/ exit ways, recreational and other areas of the facility. Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.
· Perform regular inspections of resident rooms, bed and equipment for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties. Report hazardous conditions or equipment to Housekeeping Supervisor and/or Director of Environmental Services.
· Observe and report maintenance repair needs, i.e. bulbs, exit lights, overhead/fluorescent, room call lights, beds, etc..
· Coordinate daily housekeeping services with other departments when performing routine or special cleaning assignments in all areas of the facility to ensure minimal disruption of resident schedule and program. Observes and maintains awareness of resident acts/wishes etc., and contributes, when requested, information for resident care conferences. Schedules may vary at times in accordance with our residents.
· Assure that an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies are maintained in utility/janitorial closets to perform daily tasks. Cleans and maintains housekeeping equipment and service areas. Assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc.
· Communicate with housekeeping, residents, resident families, and other departments.
· Attend/ participate in department, staff, in-service classes, on-the-job training programs, as directed or requested.

EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Previous
housekeeping experience desired.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and
maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine
reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively· before groups of
customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure,
using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate,
ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete
variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to
interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or
schedule form.
