Job Title: Housekeeping Aide/Houseman

Reports To

Housekeeping Supervisor/Housekeeping Manager/ General Manager/Operations Manager

Job Summary

Assist housekeepers with removing soiled linen, removing garbage, and replenishing supplies on their carts. Also responsible for maintaining cleanliness standards in guest hallways, and housekeeping work areas.

Activities & Responsibilities

Primary

Follow a daily detailed checklist to complete the following:

Remove soiled linen and terry from housekeeping carts

Remove garbage from housekeeping carts and replace with new liner

Deliver supplies to housekeepers in a timely manner

Deliver items to guest rooms upon request from guests or the front desk using brand service standards

Maintain cleanliness of guest hallways by vacuuming, dusting, and reporting damage to maintenance

Maintain cleanliness of housekeeping storage and work areas by removing garbage, laundry, dirty dishes, and restocking supplies

Maintain cleanliness of main garbage/recycling area of the hotel

May need to assist with the cleaning of guest rooms to assist Housekeeping

Supplemental

Assist guests with luggage

Maintain communication with front desk/maintenance/housekeeping supervisor/manager using a 2-way radio

Knowing and providing information about property facilities

Knowing how to listen, apologize, and get help when guests encounter problems

Minimum Qualifications

Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness

Adhere to grooming and uniform standards

Delivering amenities and linen to guests upon request

Setting up baby cribs, and sofa beds

Using special equipment and machines safely

Use chemicals following the proper procedures and safety equipment

Provide the best possible customer service to our guests

Maintain a positive attitude during difficult or stressful situations

Ability to multi-task and fulfill several demands in a short time frame

Report any unsafe work practices

Must be able to lift up to 30lbs, stand, squat, bend, and push cleaning machines and/or carts. Must be able to follow and complete a detailed checklist each shift.

Must be team oriented

Must have strong communication skills

Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
