Host and Food Runner
Copra is seeking a versatile individual to fill a part-time role that involves alternating between Host and Food Runner duties as needed. The schedule includes Saturday mornings, Sunday mornings, and occasional weeknight shifts. Detailed descriptions of both positions are provided below.

JOB SUMMARY
The Brunch Host is responsible for controlling the flow of seating in the restaurant in a way that maximizes covers without compromising service. This role is also responsible for recognizing repeat guests, anticipating guest needs, setting realistic expectations for wait times and easing guest frustrations should expectations not be met. PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Possess a deep understanding of the flow of service and how seating affects all other aspects of the restaurant.

Keep track of reservations, the waitlist and updating table status.

Use a reservation and seating software to manage guest flow.

Keep a pulse on the status of the restaurant as a whole during service to make the best decisions possible regarding wait times and seating.

Extend a genuine welcome and good-bye to all Ettan + Copra + Eylan guests

Be knowledgeable about Ettan + Copra + Eylan food, drink and services as a main point of contact for guests

Communicate with floor staff about necessary table arrangements before and during service.

Have a keen eye on and take action to ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the host area and restaurant in general

Communicate special guest requests, VIPs or celebrations to servers and BOH & FOH management

Keep the kitchen aware of big pushes or delays in seating throughout the night

Learn how to ring orders and close checks in Toast

Communicate with management and log in guest profile any disappointed guest experiences or special praise for their Ettan + Copra + Eylan experience

Keep a calm and kind demeanor under pressure

Lead the host team in planning the floor, updating table status, preparing menus, communicating to service staff and preparing all areas for service

JOB SUMMARY
The Runner works in collaboration with the expeditor and floor staff to keep up a steady flow of plated meals from the kitchen to the guest tables. This position provides important communication between the chefs and expeditor and floor staff to ensure correct and properly prepared dishes are served to diners. PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Extend a genuine welcome and good-bye to all Ettan + Copra + Eylan guests

Proficient knowledge of seating patterns, table and seat numbers

Be aware of the number of newly seated guests and incoming orders and communicate with the expeditor and chef

Carry complete dishes from the kitchen pass to the guest’s table at the direction of the food expeditor

Travel through the restaurant in a composed, orderly, safe fashion to ensure dishes are intact when they reach the guests

Maintain in depth knowledge of Ettan + Copra + Eylan food and drink; able to recognize dishes & drinks by sight; know all dishes that contain potential allergens

Scan the dining room when going to and from the pass, looking for any guests who may need the attention of their server and communicate with the service staff as needed

Clear dishes to the dish station, when possible, provide any missing silverware as needed when you deliver food to tables

Communicate any discrepancies with orders or dishes to the Chef, Expeditor, Server or FOH management

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen pass area and restaurant in general

Work as a team with all floor staff to ensure the best guest service possible

Assist with preparing the kitchen pass for service, organizing and cleaning

Runner side work responsibilities (maintaining clean plate wipes, stocking paper rolls and ink, silverware, taking out paper trash)
