HIM Director/Credentialing Specialist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement policies and procedures for managing health information, including electronic health records (EHR) and other data management systems.
• Implement and maintain security regulations.
• Ensure the organization adheres to all relevant federal and state regulations related to health information management.
• Responsible for all credentialing and re-credentialing processes for all healthcare providers,, including verifying qualifications, licenses, and certifications.  This includes tracking license and credential expiration dates and initiating renewal processes.
• Responsible for analyzing patient records and converting medical information into standardized codes used for billing, insurance reimbursements, and data analysis.  Includes reviewing medical charts, assigning appropriate codes, ensuring accuracy , and maintaining compliance with coding guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned by the CEO/Administrator.

Education and/or work Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management with RHIA certification preferred

Associates degree with RHIT certification, minimum
