Essential Functions

• Identifies and interprets cardiac rhythms.
• Notifies appropriate nurse of changes in cardiac rhythms.
• Documents daily interpretation of cardiac rhythms.
• Utilizes knowledge of monitor system operation to assist in the proper care of patients.
• Performs clerical duties (order entry, telephone management, and unit organization).

Qualifications

• Requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to foster a supportive role in assisting members of the care team.
• Requires intermediate level computer skills.
• Experience navigating an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in a hospital environment is preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Cardiac monitoring experience/education in a critical care setting is preferred.
• Two years' Health Unit Coordinator/Patient Care Technician experience in an acute hospital setting is preferred.
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English via verbal and written means.
• BLS certification is required upon hire.
• Arrhythmia Course Certification is preferred.
