The MHG Catering & Events team has established themselves as industry leaders in full-service catering on PEI, producing special experiences at the PEI Brewing Company (PEIBC) and The Rivershed (Oyster Bed Bridge).  MHG Catering & Events consistently exceeds clients’ expectations, with a reputation for raising the bar in the world of special event production. Our knowledgeable and experienced team members bring a professional and creative approach to execute each unique event. Whether its an intimate event for twenty people, or an extravagant event for more than five hundred, you can trust our team to deliver on every detail.

As the Head Chef, You Will

  • Demonstrate and communicate vision and culinary concepts to all team members
  • Ensuring team members provide a memorable guest experience through coaching and fostering a positive working culture by reinforcing the MHG Values
  • Demonstrate and promote a kitchen culture that revolves around the enjoyment of cooking, food and working as a team
  • Put forth an influential presence in the kitchen which fosters growth, learning and development
  • Work with the management team to meet all projected goals when it comes to cost, waste and labour control
  • Oversee ordering of inventory and daily prep work
  • Responsible for completing weekly inventory
  • Recipe and menu development and input into inventory system, Optimum Control
  • Work on the line with team members, maintaining a high level of food quality
  • Oversees kitchen operations and cleanliness

What You Bring

  • Experience cooking and leading in a full-service high-volume restaurant or catering environment
  • Previous experience working in kitchen leadership role
  • Culinary Arts training or diploma will be considered an asset
  • Ability to take and give direction, working calmly under pressure
  • Enjoy learning new things, teaching team members, and helping grow and develop talent
  • A desire for personal and professional development
