Why this Position Exists

This position exists to support our style team so they can offer their clients the best experience efficiently and to set up individuals new to the industry up to become successful stylists after completing our advanced training and integrating with the rest of our team. This role also exists to support the salon operationally. 

Stylist Support Responsibilities

This client-facing portion of this position enables the stylist team to operate at a high efficiency (more clients completed in less time) while maintaining a high quality of service and experience. This hands-on role requires you to anticipate the stylists’ needs and act accordingly. This role allows you to gain fantastic training and training from everyone on our team necessary to later become a strong member of our stylist team.

Salon Support Responsibilities

All team members, but primarily this position, are expected to be able to flex into the salon support role throughout the day. This ensures the smooth operation of the salon and directly impacts the perceived image of the salon to our customers. You will be expected to also complete operational tasks such as answering the phone, checking out and scheduling future client appointments, etc. 

Tasks and Expectations

  • Be the first point of contact for clients as they enter the salon, setting the tone for their appointment and time at the salon

  • Preparing trays, turning over trays, mixing color, updating formulas, applying color, shampooing hair, applying products, blow-drying, and styling.

  • Complete daily tasks at a regular interval safely and neatly.  

  • Communicate with clients in person, on the phone, and by text to book appointments and answer questions.

  • Become an expert on the products we retail in order to answer client questions.

  • Maintain up to date client information

  • Meet set performance expectations reviewed individually every month with each team member. 

  • Maintain an Instagram and social media presence with frequent posts and updates promoting their work.

Supervision

This role reports directly to the salon owner.

Working Conditions

This role requires long hours standing.

Qualifications

  • A current South Carolina cosmetology license

  • Minimum 6 months working in a salon environment. 1 year experience preferred.

  • Online presence showcasing your work

  • Ability to read and speak English

Pay

This is a non-exempt employee role. Our pay structure includes a combination of a competitive hourly rate including overtime and product commissions.

Both part-time (less than 30hrs) and full-time (30 - 45hrs) will be considered.
