General Manager - Polynesian Hotel, Ocean Plaza Motel, Viking Motel
Work Location: 1001 S. Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577
Job description – The person in this position reports directly to the Corporate Accounting Controller and is responsible for establishing and managing the Hotel daily operations. This involves coordinating the activities of the Front Desk, Engineering and Housekeeping departments. Works with department heads to ensure that all guest needs and concerns are properly addressed. Participate in business planning and review activities to ensure the financial wellbeing of the Property.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to –
- Provide leadership to all departments by reviewing schedules and trainings
- Support hiring work flows among all departments
- Ensure adherence to hotel policy from employees as well as guests
- Resolve front desk discrepancies; financial, reservations, etc.
- Schedule/host periodic staff meetings
- Work with guests to resolve problems by suggesting and applying mutually agreeable solutions
- Develop last minute booking rates for walk-in guests
- Work with all departments to ensure guests request are met in a timely and proficient manner
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guest service needs
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems/safety hazards
Requirements -
- Previous experience in a similar role required
- Proficient in Excel
- Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Working knowledge of financials and accounting
- Proficiency with computers and general office PC applications (email, POS system, etc)
- Valid Driver’s License
