Job Summary:   

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager or an Assignee (Chaplain), this position takes care of specific day-to-day operations so that the ministry staff can focus on teaching, counseling, preaching, etc.   Performs all reasonably related duties as assigned.   

This position is part-time up to 29 hours per week.  The schedule will be: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and possible additional hours on another day of the week.

 Christian Commitment: Must exemplify and model Christian behaviors and values and possess high levels of ethics, honesty and character.    

 Education/Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent; and 0 months to 2 years related experience and/or training in Concierge Support of Social Work Related Programs; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the nonprofit social work industry.  Must be skilled and/or willing to be trained in verbal and non-violent conflict de-escalation/resolution techniques.  Must have a valid government-issued driver’s license and be insurable by the WRM’s insurance carrier.  Must be willing to sign WRM's Statement of Faith.         

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greets and engages ALL guests and clients entering Mission property in a friendly and professional manner and directs them to their destination accordingly.
  • Maintain excellent situational awareness to identify and monitor suspicious activity, safety hazards and other campus related concerns
  • Enforces access control and visitor management policies at assigned location(s)…such as intake and check-out locations.
  • Adheres to and enforces all WRM rules, regulations, procedures, policies and standards of conduct.
  • Maintains a friendly and professional working relationships with vendors and contractors visiting Mission property and ensures they are taken to the Mission location they are servicing.
  • Monitors the WRM vendor check-in and check-out log.
  • Observes and monitors entry and exit locations at the Mission.
  • Assist with de-escalation of client and/or guest related conflicts.
  • Assist with client check-in and check-out processes.
  • Serves all clients and guests in a gracious, friendly, and helpful manner, complying with our Guidelines for Addressing Aggressive Clients, as well as fulfilling the AIM of Waterfront, which is “To demonstrate God’s goodness by providing rescue and recovery services in Jesus’ name.”   
  • Provide additional Mission Support as necessary.
  • Some travel may be necessary for training & temporary duty. 
  • Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other Mission management.

The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.  The employee may be asked to assist with client conflicts which may require them to deescalate volatile situations.  May occasional be required to lift and carry up to and over 50 pounds.

 While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat.  The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
