Ground Support Equipment Maintenance Technician

A Ground Support Equipment Maintenance Technicians is responsible for diagnosing operational problems and making corrective repairs to industrial trucks, refuel trucks, forklifts, cars and more. This technician works to uphold the highest standards of serviceability of all automotive equipment supporting the facility. Experience in auto mechanics is preferred.  A valid driver's license is required.  Ability to obtain an airport security badge is required.

Job Duties

Responsible for but not limited to: 

• Replacing parts on tractors, trucks, lifts, belt loaders and other equipment
• Maintaining various systems and machines
• Performing all scheduled checks and preventative maintenance as prescribed by manufacturer or management.
• Repairing engines, transmissions, braking systems, electrical systems, and various other equipment when required
• Change Tires
• Follow a maintenance schedule
• Diagnosing and solving different problems
• Checking fluid levels

Skills/Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
• Valid Driver's License
• Manual dexterity
• Problem-solving
• Physically able
• Mechanically inclined
• Ability to work under pressure
• High attention to detail
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to properly communicate
• Ability to follow detailed instructions

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to various weather conditions and loud noises.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
